Re: Making Space blogging
by Anonymous
I will be sharing with, my brother on Wednesday between 12.30-1.30 The space will be open for people to come in and out, we will go into a more formal structure of showing our findings after the first 15 minutes, or when we feel we have enough people. This seems endless this journey, just when I have began to dig that little bit deeper, more is revealed from this heart. I have a had an intense process so far of finding a language, a language of heart. I have been playing with memory, recalling and recounting memory. Sound and the spoken word play a big part in my work, and so I was, and I am delighted that my brother could collaborate with me in the last few days. I have been working with a structure of recording spoken word and replaying and recounting memory, all of these memories are to do with place, an event that links back to the heart. I’m wondering if the heart has its own memory: The rhythm of the event stored in the flesh A pattern, A beating, I have been exploring authentic movement and improvisational structures. Also improvisation with the spoken word in both the welsh and English language as structures within the sound score. I feel my brother’s arrival has shifted the making further. I am interested the multi layering of sound to create a dense and rich landscape which is constantly shifting as it is manipulated. Similar to the blood, the sound is gathered from various points, manipulated, treated and fed back into the space. A journey of resurrecting, recalling, and replaying memories in the hope of bringing them back to life…. Cai
